Post 8: English Language Challenges

Image
The comments I can make about my experience learning English at the university is that it has been a little difficult, especially when I have to speak or lecture in front of my classmates, since it is a language that is very difficult for me so I get very insecure in the lectures and that makes me very nervous and I feel very embarrassed to speak in front of my classmates. In spite of the above, the English teachers we have had have been very understanding and kind when it comes to teaching us English. I feel that it has been very entertaining to use blogs to learn English, since having to read your classmates' blogs has been very fun and didactic. The only thing that I personally have found difficult about the blogs is that they have to be weekly and that has been a little complicated for me. I think the aspects I need to improve in English are quite a few and also in order to improve I will need more years of study about this language. It is very hard for me to speak English, I

Post 7: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Image
I don't think I would make changes in the curriculum, at least not in branches because I feel I don't have enough experience yet to be able to say which branches I think maybe don't add much. I think that five years, in the case of psychology, studying a degree, not counting the years of specialization, is a long time, but at the same time I also think that if it were less time, perhaps we would not be able to see the necessary material. If we talk about the workload, I would decrease it in order to be able to dedicate the adequate time to each subject, in this way we will not have the need to leave books unread or subjects unstudied. I would also make more classes but of less time duration, for example we currently have classes that last from 10:15 to 13:30 and what I propose is to have more classes but distributed during the week and that last 45 minutes. I cannot say what I would change about the infrastructure of the university since I have not been able to get to know

Post 6: Postgraduate Studies

Image
I would like to take the course because having a specialization, master's or doctorate degree makes professionals more qualified to take on challenges at the work level and perform in complex positions that require knowledge and skills that are not acquired at the undergraduate level, in addition to increasing remuneration levels by 30%. It will also allow me to increase my knowledge in the field that really interests me, in order to be able to become a person with a lot of knowledge. All of the above reasons translate into greater possibilities for the person who does postgraduate studies to consolidate professionally and reach a better standard of living, not only in economic terms but also intellectually. The subject I would like to study is criminal psychology, which is dedicated to elaborate the psychodiagnosis with the intention to foresee a prognosis and consider an adequate treatment by studying the personality of the criminal. Likewise, criminological psychology integr

Post 5: My Future Job

I would like to work in the specialty of forensic psychologist and thus be able to work with the PDI doing psychological profiles of criminals, helping the victims or also creating psychological profiles of the perpetrators. If I have to choose between working outdoors or indoors, the truth is that either option would suit me, it is not like I prefer one over the other, it all depends on what my work requires at that time.   If I had to travel for work I would like it to be within the country, as long as it is not by plane, since I am afraid of airplanes for that reason I would not like to travel to other countries, it would be a little uncomfortable and distressing.   As for my salary, I would like it to be proportional to the time and effort involved in the work I am doing, but the truth is that I am not that ambitious when it co mes to earning money, as long as I earn a fair salary I will be satisfied. Now none, since the specialty is taken later but the one I would like t

Post 4: What's like to study psychology ?

Image
I am a psychology student and I decided to study psychology because I feel and believe that it is a career that focuses on helping people, that fascinates me, it would leave my heart full to know that I can help someone feel better, also to feel that I contribute a grain of sand to create a better world and also I find the mind and human behavior very interesting, it is fascinating. Psychology has many options of specialization and that also makes me like it a lot, some examples of that are clinical psychology, labor psychology, educational psychology, legal psychology, forensic psychology, etc.   Studying online I find that it is very difficult, since it is more difficult to concentrate because there are many distractions compared to face-to-face classes, for example the television, the noise that can be in the house, being all locked up trying to do their own thing. It is super complicated to make friends at the university or at least it was more difficult for me compared to what

Post 3: Mental health Problems related to a lockdown

With the measures of being isolated in order to manage COVID 19 I have felt my stress and anxiety increase, especially frustrated about not being able to go to college. This has caused me to feel chest pains, shortness of breath, grief, wanting to eat more food than my body needs, and having a lot of trouble falling asleep. What helps me to cope with this confinement is to support myself with the people I live with, talk to my friends, my boyfriend and my partner. It also helps me a lot to have other activities like reading a book, cooking and meditating. I feel that the pandemic has made us reflect on how important it is for human beings to socialize, how important it is to live each day to the fullest because we do not know what may happen tomorrow and it has also forced us to look at ourselves and take charge of ourselves. The plans I have when the pandemic or quarantine is over are to go back to college, to be able to play sports like before, to see the people I love and to

POSTING 2: The best holidays ever

Image
My best vacation ever was in 2018 when I went to Chiloé, which is in southern Chile. We spent about a week and a half there and also stayed in some very nice cabins which had a very nice wood stove. I went to Chiloé with my mom, my mom's husband, my sister and my brother and with them we visited many places. We visited many places because we went in my mom's husband's car, so it was easier to move from one place to another, so we could visit churches, parks, islands which were inside Chiloé, we went to museums and we also went to eat in many different places, it was very entertaining because we ate a lot of seafood and fried salmon, which we had never eaten that way. This has been the best vacation because we could all relax a lot, we enjoyed the trip and it was also a very nice family time, the weather also made it very special because it was nice to be in the cabin with the wood stove eating cookies while it was raining and watching the beautiful scenery.
